The kernel from the 3.18 series has been updated to 3.18.7 for both 32bit and 64bit PCLinuxOS. This kernel is the latest stable release of the 3.18 series from the kernel developers. This update is available through the Synaptic Package Manager. PCLinuxOS allows you to install a new kernel while keeping the previous version in place. This allows you to evaluate the new kernel to determine how well it works with your hardware. If after running the new kernel for a few days and you have no problems with it, you can safely remove the previous version.
